Hi! My name is Brenda Benson,

I'm the illustrator for my business Lapa Loma. I always loved art growing up. And as I grew older I decided to take my career more seriously. I ended up studying in NY and graduating from Parsons the New School for Design where received my B.F.A from there. Where I was able to gain my skills as a designer and illustrator. I worked for different design companies, TOMEnyc, SusannaMonaco, MFBG, and Bealls. Later on, I decided to venture into starting my own company. Lapa Loma was created because I felt the need to do art that would make a difference. Art that would be part of a change and all the while creating captivating visuals that took my viewer to another world. Thus, I opened my blooming business in June 2023 to help storytellers who have the same dream as I do and help attract their ideal young readers.
