Hi! My name is Brenda Benson,

I'm the illustrator for my business Lapa Loma. I always loved art growing up. And as I grew older I decided to take my career more seriously. I ended up studying in NY and graduating from Parsons the New School for Design where I received my Bachelors of Fine Art. Over the past decade, I was able to gain my skills as an illustrator working for different design companies such as TOMEnyc, SusannaMonaco, MFBG, and Bealls. In 2023, I decided to venture into starting my own illustration business. My business, Lapa Loma was created because I wanted utilize my skills and creativity as an illustrator to create worlds that would inspire positive change. And the place that I felt my skills best shine were in books. Thus, I opened my blooming business in June 2023 to help storytellers who have the same dream as I do and help them to attract their ideal young readers.
