An important aspect when making a children's picture books is not only developing your unique voice but also creating worlds that are visually stimulating for your readers. With social media and AI being at the forefront of technology it's important to keep up with current trends. I love bringing a fresh new perspective when illustrating children's books. Children's book authors and illustrators alike, need to challenge the status quo by bringing to life topics that are typically overlooked. Phase 1
Getting to know you
In this first phase, we discuss your book and what makes you special. This helps me accurately bring your vision to life. We go over your ideas and concepts for your book. As well as discuss different specific characters and elements you want to feature. Lastly, we discuss timing and logistics to make sure you’re ready to launch ASAP!
Phase 2
Where the magic begins
In the next phase, l fully immerse myself in your story. I then begin drafting out the illustrations, making sure that every page looks exactly the way you want it. Once we finalize the drafts, I begin to work on bringing the illustrations to life by introducing vibrant colors, patterns, and elements to make your book visually appealing to your audience.
Phase 3
Launch!
In the last phase, we finalize the book to completion. Your book will be ready to launch, and you’ll have eye-catching illustrations to help you stand out on shelves and online! You will feel amazing as you enchant your readers with your new magical children's book, build your audience, and attract your desired readers.

My name is Brenda and i'm the illustrator for Lapa Loma. I've always been passionate about art and creating stories through my illustrations. I decided at an early age I wanted to be an artist. I went to Parsons the New School for Design where I gained a lot of my skills. I've been doing art professionally for 10 years. Yet, in 2023 decided to venture into opening my illustration business. Now, I aim to help children's book authors create enchanting stories and reach their ideal young readers.
